Two-Day ICAI Sub-Regional Conference Kicks Off in Dibrugarh on May 23

Dibrugarh, May 23: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is set to host a two-day sub-regional conference starting today, organized by the Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, and Guwahati branches under the Eastern India Regional Council. The event will take place at the Manohari Tea Resort, focusing on the theme “Saptasetu: Connecting the Seven Sisters through CA Excellence.”

On Friday, a press conference was held at the Dibrugarh branch office of the EIRC to provide details about the conference. It aims to prioritize professional excellence and regional unity, attracting chartered accountants, entrepreneurs, experts from various fields, educators, and policymakers from across the Northeast and other parts of the country. The conference will emphasize knowledge sharing, professional discussions, and networking opportunities.

The inaugural ceremony will commence at 10 AM today, with the Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh, Vikram Keri, as the chief guest. Over 300 distinguished individuals, including members of the ICAI’s central and regional councils, will also participate in the conference.

On the second day, May 24, a special honor ceremony will take place at 10 AM, featuring Jyotirmay Bhattacharya, Executive Director of Finance and Accounts at Oil India Limited, as the guest of honor.

Experts will address several significant and contemporary topics during this two-day event. Key discussions will include artificial intelligence (AI) for chartered accountants, the journey towards IPOs—processes, benefits, and frameworks, ‘Unnati 2024’ and subsidy and incentive schemes under AAIIPA 2019, simulations of GST issues and practical experiences in courts, the new Income Tax Law of 2025, and the implications of the US-Iran conflict, among others.
