
Kochi, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : The Kochi City Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a gang rape case that occurred in Kalamassery, Ernakulam district of Kerala. Police Commissioner S. Kali Raj Mahesh Kumar announced the arrests on Monday, revealing that they are also searching for two other suspects, one of whom is a woman.
The incident reportedly involved a young woman who was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted after attending a job interview at a spa. According to the police, the victim had seen an advertisement for a spa manager position on OLX and attended a personal interview on September 2. Later that evening, a woman contacted her, inviting her to a lodge in Edappally, where an Uber taxi was arranged for her transportation.
Upon arriving at the lodge, the victim was served juice, which she later claimed caused her to lose consciousness. It is alleged that she was then gang-raped and held at the lodge for a day, during which time she was reportedly given drugs and alcohol, leading to repeated sexual assaults. The assaults are said to have occurred on September 2 and 3.
The victim, who resides in Kochi with her husband, is currently receiving medical treatment. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities looking into the possibility of other individuals being involved in this crime and whether similar incidents have occurred in the past. So far, two suspects have been apprehended, while two others, including the female suspect, remain at large.
