Ranchi, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : The CID’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested two men in connection with alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission’s CGL exam. The arrests occurred on September 15 in Ranchi, with the suspects identified as Rajesh Prasad Yadav and Sandeep Kumar.
Rajesh Yadav is reportedly a YouTuber, while Sandeep Kumar is said to run a social trust. Both face accusations of accepting payments from candidates to facilitate unfair advantages during the examination.
According to the CID, leads about Yadav and Kumar emerged during interrogations of previously detained suspects. Acting on this information, the CID conducted raids at various locations in Koderma.
The investigation team apprehended Yadav from Golwadhab in the Domchanch police area and Kumar from Purnanagar in Koderma. They were subsequently brought to the CID headquarters in Ranchi for questioning.
Sources indicate that after about three days of interrogation, formal arrests were made on Tuesday. The CID is now focused on uncovering the roles of both men in the alleged fraud and identifying others involved in the scheme. The agency is also examining financial transactions, connections with candidates, and other aspects related to the purported misconduct during the exam.
CID sources report that both individuals had been questioned multiple times over the past few days. The agency claims that they did not fully cooperate with the investigation and attempted to mislead the team in certain instances. This prompted their detention and subsequent arrests based on the evidence collected.
After their court appearance, both suspects were remanded into judicial custody. The CID’s SIT is now investigating the alleged network surrounding these individuals and the involvement of other potential participants in the examination fraud. Further arrests may follow based on ongoing inquiries and financial investigations.
