Trump Urges Israel and Iran to Cease Military Actions Immediately

Washington, June 8: President Donald Trump has called for an immediate halt to military actions between Israel and Iran. In a brief statement via Truth Social, he urged both nations to “stop shooting” right away.

Following a two-month ceasefire, Iran launched missiles at Israel on Sunday. In retaliation, Tel Aviv targeted several Iranian sites, including the Karun petrochemical plant.

Previously, Trump had urged both countries to exercise restraint. In an interview with Fox News, he stated, “I would tell Iran that you have fired your missiles; now stop. Come back to the negotiating table and make a deal.”

According to a report from Xinhua News Agency, Trump also claimed that the U.S. and Iran were very close to an agreement before the missile attacks occurred. He remarked, “We were very close. I believe that by Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of this coming week, a deal could have been signed. But now, that is all gone.”

In an interview with Axios, Trump mentioned that he plans to call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to urge him not to retaliate. He said, “I am about to call Bibi (Netanyahu) and tell him not to retaliate. Both sides have taken their steps. Israel has attacked, and Iran has responded. We do not need further confrontation.”

The threat of missile and drone attacks, military responses, and regional conflicts has raised concerns within the international community. The Israeli Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) have made it clear that these actions are a consequence of not halting attacks against Hezbollah.
