Trump to Address Media Amid Health Speculations

Washington, April 6: Speculations about President Donald Trump’s health have been circulating since Sunday evening. Recent reports from American media indicated that Trump would not attend a major annual meeting of American conservatives. This led to various conjectures regarding his well-being. In response, White House spokesperson Carolyn Levitt confirmed that the President will engage with the media today.

On the social media platform X, Levitt stated, “Due to press demand, President Trump’s news conference on April 6 will now take place in the White House briefing room at 1 PM (local time).” She provided this update on April 6 at 3:19 AM IST, which corresponds to approximately 5:49 PM on April 5 in the U.S.

The White House has dismissed rapidly spreading rumors suggesting that President Trump was hospitalized. These rumors began when the White House declared a ‘photo lid’ at 11 AM ET on Saturday, indicating that no public events were scheduled for the day.

Some posts on X claimed that Trump had been taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, fueled by a viral motorcade video. However, fact-checking and subsequent reporting revealed that the video was from 2024, when Trump was discharged from a hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania, after being injured in a shooting.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung refuted these claims, asserting that the President’s schedule remains normal. He wrote on X, “No president has worked harder than Trump. He has been continuously working in the White House and Oval Office even during this Easter weekend.”

A journalist reporting from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center noted that there was neither ‘Marine One’ nor a motorcade, and the roads were open.

CBS News reporter Emma Nicholson posted, “At 1:50 PM, a Marine guard is stationed at the West Wing door, indicating that the President is working inside.”

Typically, the presence of a Marine guard at the West Wing entrance signals that the President is present and engaged in work. However, this is not the first instance of false reports regarding a U.S. President’s health. Misinformation about the President’s activities has frequently spread across digital platforms.
