Trump Claims U.S. Will Declare Hormuz Strait as American Territory After Defeating Iran

Washington, August 15: President Donald Trump announced that following a victory over Iran, he intends to declare the Hormuz Strait as part of the United States. This claim regarding one of the world’s most crucial energy routes is extraordinary. Trump made this statement during a speech on crime and law enforcement in Garden City, New York.

He did not provide detailed information on how the U.S. could assert such a claim over this waterway or the legal basis for such an action.

Trump stated, “After defeating Iran, which is losing badly, I will soon declare the Hormuz Strait as part of America.”

The president used this speech to outline U.S. military actions against Iran. He claimed that Iran’s navy and air force have been decimated and that its senior leadership is now weakened.

“No one has any idea how successful we are. They don’t want to write it, but they know. You know who knows how well we are doing? Iran. Iran knows,” he said.

He added, “Think about it, they have no navy left; it is completely gone, 159 ships. They had a total of 159 ships. 159 ships are now at the bottom of the sea.”

Trump also claimed that Iran has lost all of its 212 aircraft. However, he did not provide any evidence for the military statistics mentioned during his speech.

“Iran had 212 very good airplanes, some of which were bought from America through Barack Obama. Every one of their planes has been shot down,” he asserted.

The president noted that the absence of leadership in Iran poses challenges for any potential negotiations.

“They have no leadership. Their leadership has been wiped out. Their first, second, and third tier has been halved. There is no one to negotiate with. This is a problem,” Trump remarked.

He acknowledged that while Iran still possesses some missiles and drones, its capacity to produce them has severely deteriorated. Their radar and intelligence systems have been compromised.

Earlier in his speech, Trump defended the use of U.S. military force against Iran, stating it is essential to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
