Trump Claims America Leads in AI Race Over China

Washington, March 5: President Donald Trump has asserted that the United States has gained a clear advantage over China in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). He also accused China of monopolizing the global wind turbine market and exporting these products to Europe.

During a roundtable meeting at the White House focused on the ‘Ratepayer Protection Pledge’, Trump stated that the U.S. is ahead in developing advanced AI infrastructure. He remarked, “America is leading the world in AI. We are ahead of China.”

Trump characterized AI as a strategic competition among major powers, emphasizing that the country that excels in technology will also be the most powerful militarily.

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright echoed this sentiment, stating, “The country that leads in AI will be the military superpower.”

The President criticized China’s role in the global wind energy sector, accusing Beijing of dominating the wind turbine manufacturing market. Trump noted, “They make all the windmills.” He also highlighted that China exports a significant number of turbines to Europe.

According to Trump, European nations have purchased large quantities of Chinese wind turbines as part of their efforts to increase renewable energy. He suggested that the promotion of wind energy in Europe is not progressing as expected, adding that China does not rely heavily on such projects domestically.

Trump pointed out the rapid expansion of China’s energy infrastructure, suggesting that Beijing is significantly increasing its new energy capacity. However, he stated that the U.S. is also making similar efforts to generate power to support AI and data center growth.

He emphasized the necessity of increasing electricity production to maintain America’s leadership in AI and advanced computing. During the program, Trump mentioned changes in the global manufacturing supply chain, noting that companies from various countries are shifting production to the U.S.

He specifically mentioned that automotive manufacturers from Canada and Mexico are establishing new plants in America due to trade policies. Trump also cited Germany, Japan, and South Korea as countries whose automotive companies are increasing manufacturing in the U.S.

He remarked that companies are being incentivized to relocate production to America due to commercial pressures.

In his address, Trump also touched on global semiconductor manufacturing, briefly mentioning Taiwan, and stated that the U.S. is revitalizing its domestic chip industry. He noted that companies are now bringing production back to America.
