PM Modi Pays Tribute to Goddess Katyayani on Navratri with Sanskrit Verse

On Navratris sixth day, PM Modi honored Goddess Katyayani with a Sanskrit verse on social media, reflecting on her divine presence.

New Delhi, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the sixth day of Navratri by sharing a Sanskrit verse dedicated to Goddess Katyayani on the social media platform X. The post, made on October 16, 2026, is a tribute to the goddess, expressing reverence and admiration.

The Sanskrit shloka shared by the Prime Minister reads: “तव च का किल न स्तुतिरम्बिके! सकलशब्दमयी किल ते तनुः. निखिलमूर्तिषु मे भवदन्वयो मनसिजासु बहिःप्रसरासु च॥” This translates to: “O Jagdambike! Is there any word in this world that does not praise you? Your form is made of all words. In all forms and figures I see your essence.”

This verse is a part of the well-known hymn ‘Devi Maya,’ which extols the virtues of the goddess. It highlights the elevated state of a devotee who perceives only the divine presence of the goddess in all aspects of creation, speech, and thought.

Through this shloka, the devotee acknowledges that there is no word or expression that fails to honor the goddess, as her embodiment encompasses all sounds and letters. The devotee expresses that in every thought and manifestation in the world, only the goddess’s form is evident.

On this day of Navratri, worshippers honor Goddess Katyayani, who is the sixth form of Goddess Durga. She is depicted with four arms, holding a sword in one hand and a lotus in the other, while her remaining hands are in the boon-giving and fear-dispelling postures. Her vehicle is a lion.

Goddess Katyayani is believed to have been born as the daughter of sage Katyayana, who pleased the divine with his penance. Devotees primarily worship her for swift marriages, overcoming marital obstacles, and seeking the ideal partner.
