Lucknow, August 21: The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the selection results for the Junior Assistant positions in the Industrial Development Department. Based on the main examination results announced on Friday, 50 candidates have been selected. The recruitment process adhered to the prescribed rules, merit, and reservation provisions, further strengthening the transparent and merit-based recruitment system of the Yogi government in the state.
Initially, online applications were invited for 62 Junior Assistant positions. Following a revised proposal from the department, the number of positions was reduced to 54. Based on the revised positions, the commission completed the selection process and finalized 50 candidates. Among the selected candidates, 34 belong to the unreserved category, 3 from Scheduled Castes, 1 from Scheduled Tribes, 7 from Other Backward Classes, and 5 from the Economically Weaker Sections.
The commission clarified that candidates eligible under horizontal reservation were adjusted within their original categories. The selection process also followed the rules for women, persons with disabilities, and other horizontal reservation categories. In cases where eligible candidates were not available for certain categories, the commission proceeded to select other eligible candidates as per the rules. The commission has also released the category-wise cutoff marks along with the final results. The cutoff for the unreserved category was 65 marks, while it was 26.75 for Scheduled Castes, 50 for Scheduled Tribes, 62.50 for OBC, and 63.75 for EWS.
For horizontal reservation, the cutoff for persons with disabilities in the ASD/HH/DE/OH category was 54.75, and for other categories of persons with disabilities, it was 44.25. The cutoff for female candidates was recorded at 42 marks. The Yogi government continues to emphasize the importance of transparency, fairness, and merit-based recruitment in government jobs. The final results of the Junior Assistant recruitment reflect this commitment.
The commission has made it clear that the final selection results will be subject to orders from pending petitions in the High Court. Additionally, 5 candidates have been provisionally included, with their final selection dependent on the commission’s decision.
