Tribals Demand Separate Bhil Pradesh at Grand Conference in Rajasthan

Jaipur, July 17: Thousands of tribals from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli gathered at the renowned Manger Dham in Banswara for a grand conference on Friday.

Under the banner of the Bhil Pradesh Liberation Front, participants unanimously called for the establishment of a new state, ‘Bhil Pradesh.’

Rajkumar Rot, the Member of Parliament from the Banswara-Dungarpur constituency, stated that the governments of all four states have neglected this region, resulting in its backwardness. He accused the authorities of unjust treatment towards the tribal community.

Vinod Kumar Kharadi, the district vice president of the Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP), emphasized that the primary aim of the event was to advocate for tribal rights and firmly present the demand for a separate ‘Bhil Pradesh’ to the government.

He remarked that despite years of independence, development in tribal areas remains stagnant.

Currently, the tribal community is scattered across state borders, particularly in border regions where residents face challenges at every level. Kharadi stressed that this is not a political event but a struggle for the community’s existence and rights.

He asserted that they demand rightful entitlements for tribals and the consolidation of fragmented tribal areas into a separate ‘Bhil Pradesh’ to alleviate the current hardships faced by those in border regions.

The event was conducted peacefully and orderly under the supervision of organizing committee member Bhawarlal Parmar and members of the tribal community. Notably, this grand conference is held annually on July 17.
