Tribal Development in Tripuras TTAADC Areas Unachievable Without BJP: CM Saha

Agartala, March 5: Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Thursday that the development of tribal communities in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) regions is not feasible without the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

While addressing a public meeting organized by the BJP in Gomati district’s Atharobhola, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for ensuring the victory of BJP candidates in the upcoming TTAADC elections to accelerate development in tribal areas. He remarked, “We want to build a new Tripura with the support of all tribes.”

During the event, 192 voters from 53 families joined the BJP, and the Chief Minister welcomed them warmly.

Saha mentioned that he has visited the Bagmara Assembly constituency multiple times, more frequently than many other regions in the state. He noted that after returning from Delhi, he also visited Khumulwng, where a large rally of tribal brothers and sisters took place.

The Chief Minister asserted that without a BJP government in the TTAADC, the development of the local populace would remain challenging. He stated that the BJP’s sole aim is development, with party workers dedicating their time from 6 AM to midnight for public service, unlike other parties that prioritize their interests.

Saha highlighted the BJP’s policy of placing the state and nation above the party and individuals. He remarked that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the party operates on the principle of “neither will I take bribes, nor will I allow others to do so.”

He added that under the ‘double engine’ government model, every penny is utilized for the development of the people. Saha recalled that before 2018, many believed it was impossible to oust the Left government in Tripura, but under Modi’s guidance, the BJP ended 35 years of rule and formed the government in the state.

The Chief Minister accused the previous government of misleading tribal people and pushing them towards extremism to maintain power through a climate of terror.

The meeting was attended by various party leaders, including Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, BJP MLA Rampada Jamatiya, Gomati District BJP President Sabita Nath, and Mandal President Amar Jamatiya.
