New Delhi, September 3: Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, met with young individuals injured during the Bihar student protests on Thursday. He assured them of his support and commitment to assist in every possible way.
In a post on the social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi expressed solidarity with the students and youth of Bihar who faced severe police brutality for merely raising their voices against corruption in the examination system.
He highlighted the harsh reality that many students were injured due to police batons, AK-47s, and gunfire. One young individual, who aspired to serve the nation in the military, suffered a broken leg from an AK-47 bullet, shattering his dreams.
Rahul Gandhi emphasized that these young people were merely demanding fair opportunities, a transparent examination system, and their rights. He questioned the necessity of using batons and bullets against such demands, stating that the government cannot evade responsibility by blaming a few lower officials. This brutality either stems from higher orders or reflects a significant failure of power.
The Congress MP reiterated, “No matter what the Bihar government does, I stand with these youths. I am ready to assist them in every possible way.” He warned the BJP that any power that suppresses the voices of the youth will eventually have to answer to the public, and that day is not far off.
Meanwhile, the Bihar Congress shared information on social media, stating that Rahul Gandhi listened to the grievances of the students and youth who protested against the examination system’s corruption and endured police violence. He assured them of his support at every step. The voices of Bihar’s youth will not be silenced. The fight for justice, a transparent examination system, and the rights of the youth will continue.
