Greater Noida, September 3: Police in Greater Noida have arrested a suspect involved in the theft of jewelry worth millions from a residence in Capital Athena Society. The stolen items, including gold and silver jewelry, are estimated to be valued at around 10 lakhs.
According to police reports, the suspect was working as a carpenter in the society when he planned the burglary. The incident occurred on September 1, when an unknown thief entered a flat and made off with two gold bangles, a gold ring, two earrings, a rose gold chain, and other valuables. A written complaint was filed by the victim at the Bisrakh police station.
Following the complaint, police launched an investigation and intensified their search for the suspect. On September 3, they successfully apprehended the accused, identified as Soheb, son of Safeek, from the Bisrakh area. Police recovered the stolen jewelry and other items from his possession. During interrogation, Soheb revealed that he was working as a carpenter in Tower No. 6 of Capital Athena Society. He was aware that the flat he targeted was unoccupied at the time.
Police reported that on September 1, the suspect entered the flat through the kitchen. He stole jewelry and other valuables from a wardrobe in the room before exiting through the same kitchen route. After keeping the stolen items hidden, Soheb attempted to evade the police but was apprehended during the investigation.
The arrested individual, Soheb, is a 21-year-old resident of Anand Vihar Colony, Masuri-Dasna, Ghaziabad. Authorities are now working to gather information about his criminal history and whether he has committed any previous offenses.
Police confirmed that the case has been solved with the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the stolen goods, which are valued at approximately 10 lakhs. Legal proceedings are currently underway.
