Mumbai, August 31: The makers of the film ‘Daira,’ featuring actress Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, unveiled the trailer on Monday. This film explores the moral dilemmas between right and wrong and delves into the complexities of society.
The 2-minute and 19-second trailer is inspired by true events surrounding a crime that shook the nation. Following the incident, two separate investigations were initiated. In the film, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran portray senior police officers who view the same case from different perspectives.
As the trailer progresses, suspense builds alongside new revelations, altering the viewpoint on the case. Powerful dialogues challenge the notions of truth and justice.
The film raises critical questions about how quickly a narrative can become a verdict. When everyone has their own opinion, who determines what justice is? And as mere spectators, whom should we trust?
The trailer also features actors like Jitendra Joshi, Kshiti Jog, Kanwaljeet Singh, Sandeep Kulkarni, and Tripti Khamkar. Together with Kareena and Prithviraj, they add emotion and depth to a story that navigates diverse viewpoints, tough decisions, and their consequences.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, ‘Daira’ is co-written by Yash Keshwani, Seema Agarwal, and Meghna Gulzar. It is produced by Jungli Pictures and Pen Studios.
Inspired by true events, ‘Daira’ marks the first collaboration between Jungli Pictures and Pen Studios. Additionally, it is Meghna Gulzar’s third collaboration with Jungli Pictures after ‘Talvar’ and ‘Raazi.’ This film also marks the first collaboration between Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Produced by Jungli Pictures and Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios), the film will be distributed by Pen Marudhar. ‘Daira’ is set to release in theaters on September 18 in both Hindi and Malayalam.
