Chhindwara, April 27: A tragic road accident occurred in the Umranala area of Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh, early Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and leaving three others seriously injured. A car, carrying passengers, lost control and crashed into a tree on the roadside. The impact was so severe that the vehicle was extensively damaged, trapping the occupants inside.
According to police officials, the car was returning from Nagpur to Singodi. All passengers were reportedly returning home after dropping off Haj pilgrims. During the journey, the driver lost control, and the car collided with a tree at high speed.
The accident took place between 5:00 AM and 5:15 AM, when traffic was minimal, and the area was nearly deserted. Hearing the loud crash, local residents rushed to the scene and immediately notified the police. Together with the police, they worked to rescue the trapped individuals from the wreckage.
All six occupants of the car were critically injured and were quickly transported to Chhindwara District Hospital. Among the injured, Naz, the wife of resident Ramzan from Singodi, was in critical condition and was referred to a specialized hospital in Nagpur for better treatment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Meanwhile, both the driver and another passenger also died while receiving treatment at Chhindwara District Hospital, bringing the total fatalities to three.
The other injured individuals have been identified as Ramzan, Shahad B, and Asmeen Bano. They have been admitted to a private hospital for advanced care. Doctors report that their conditions remain serious, and they are under constant observation.
Preliminary police investigations suggest that speeding was a significant factor in the accident. Authorities are also examining whether the long-distance driver may have dozed off, leading to the vehicle losing control.
The police have not ruled out the possibility that sand or other slippery materials on the roadside may have contributed to the loss of vehicle balance. Following the incident, the police have registered a case and initiated a thorough forensic examination of the accident site.
