
Barabanki, May 23: A tragic road accident occurred late Friday night in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. A speeding dumper ran over a family sleeping by the roadside in Jhaansa village, located on the Fatehpur-Mahmudabad route. The incident resulted in the deaths of a father and three children, while the mother sustained serious injuries.
According to reports, the accident happened around 2 AM. Due to the intense heat and power outage, 35-year-old Neeraj, along with his wife Aarti and their three children, were sleeping outside their home by the road. At that moment, a speeding dumper first collided with a tree and then veered off course, crushing the family. The village erupted in chaos, and a large crowd gathered at the scene. Police arrived promptly and transported the injured to the community health center.
Neeraj and his 13-year-old son Anurag died at the scene. Meanwhile, their 10-year-old daughter Anshika, 6-year-old son Aashu, and wife Aarti were rushed to the district hospital. Unfortunately, Anshika and Aashu succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Aarti remains in critical condition and has been referred to Lohia Hospital in Lucknow.
Family members revealed that Neeraj earned a living by driving a rented magic vehicle.
Dr. Anand, the Emergency Medical Officer at the district hospital, stated that the patients were brought in around 5:15 AM by ambulance. Two children were brought in dead, while a woman with severe injuries to her leg is currently receiving treatment. The deceased include 35-year-old Neeraj, 13-year-old Anurag, 10-year-old Anshika, and 6-year-old Aashu.
He further confirmed that Neeraj and Anurag died on the spot, while Anshika and Aashu passed away during treatment at the district hospital.
