Patna, August 16: A tragic road accident occurred in the Supanchak area of Patna district, Bihar, claiming the life of a government employee on Independence Day.
The deceased has been identified as Pramod Kumar, the son of Shatrughan Prasad Agarwal, a resident of Salimpur Ahra in the Kadamkuan area of Patna. Pramod was working as an accountant and IT assistant at the Athmalgola Block office.
According to initial reports, Pramod attended the 80th Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony at the Athmalgola Block office on Friday. After the event, he was returning to Patna on his motorcycle.
While traveling near Supanchak in Fatuha, an unidentified vehicle came speeding from the opposite direction and collided with his motorcycle. The impact was so severe that Pramod was thrown onto the road and sustained critical injuries.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision.
Upon receiving information about the accident, Fatuha police arrived at the site and rushed the injured individual to Fatuha Government Hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The police have taken possession of the body and initiated necessary legal proceedings. They are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the vehicle involved and locate the driver.
Pramod’s sudden demise after participating in the Independence Day celebrations has left his family, colleagues, and local residents in deep shock. A wave of mourning has swept through his family, who were expecting him to return home after the official ceremony.
In a separate road accident, a woman in her sixties also lost her life when a speeding unidentified four-wheeler struck her. This incident occurred on Saturday, August 15, near Brahm Sthan on the Gaya-Nawada main road (NH-82), casting a shadow over the Independence Day celebrations. The driver fled the scene after the accident.
