New Delhi, August 16: BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day address, highlighting key points on women’s reservation, youth empowerment, and the vision for a developed India. He emphasized the importance of the Prime Minister’s message urging opposition parties not to obstruct women’s rights. Vallabh also questioned the absence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi at the ceremony held at the Red Fort.
Vallabh stated that the Prime Minister called on all political parties to avoid creating hurdles for the rights of mothers and sisters in the country. He noted that granting rights to women is a crucial part of the commitment to build a developed India by 2047. He expressed hope that opposition parties, which previously opposed women’s rights issues, would reconsider their stance and cease politics that undermines women’s dignity and rights.
Supporting the Prime Minister’s remarks about “mental Naxalism,” Vallabh criticized those who label India’s rapidly growing economy as a “dead economy.” He asserted that individuals who meet with anti-India forces abroad or receive funding from hostile nations are against the country’s development journey. It is essential to identify and isolate such individuals to prevent obstacles in India’s progress toward the goal of a developed India by 2047.
Vallabh highlighted that the Prime Minister sees youth as the strongest foundation for the vision of a developed India by 2047. He mentioned plans to provide AI training to one crore young people and outlined a comprehensive vision for enhancing India’s capabilities from “chip to ship,” along with preparations to host the Olympics in 2036. From the Red Fort, PM Modi presented the government’s priorities for advancing youth, women, farmers, and the manufacturing sector.
Reacting sharply to the absence of Kharge and Gandhi at the Independence Day ceremony, Vallabh stated that the leader of the main opposition party should participate in the nation’s largest national event. He accused any leader who skips the Red Fort ceremony due to seat changes of demonstrating ideological weakness. Vallabh described this as ideological bankruptcy, asserting that Independence Day is not a program of a single political party but a celebration for the entire nation.
He further remarked that the absence of Congress leaders disrespects the sacrifices of freedom fighters who dedicated their lives to the country’s independence. Citing figures like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, and Subhas Chandra Bose, he noted that not attending the Red Fort event on Independence Day reflects a narrow mindset. Vallabh urged all parties to set aside political differences and stand united for such an important national festival linked to the country and its Constitution.
