Tragic Incident in Madhya Pradesh: Mother Takes Lives of Four Daughters Before Ending Her Own

Bhopal, March 12: A shocking incident has emerged from Khamaria village in the Kesli police station area of Madhya Pradesh, leaving the community in disbelief. A 30-year-old woman, Savita Lodhi, reportedly threw her four young daughters into a deep well, leading to their tragic deaths. Following this, she took her own life by hanging herself.

On Thursday, Savita pushed her daughters into a well located in a field owned by local farmer Harpal Ghoshi. The eldest daughter was only seven years old, while the other three were even younger. Due to the depth of the well and the water it contained, all four girls drowned almost instantly.

According to police officials, after committing the act, Savita returned home and hanged herself from a nearby tree. Upon receiving the information, police teams from the Kesli station and Tada outpost arrived at the scene. They conducted a rescue operation and retrieved the bodies of the four girls from the well. Savita’s body was found hanging from the tree nearby.

All five bodies have been sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause and time of death. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was also called to collect evidence from the well and the house. Senior police officials have arrived at the site to oversee the investigation.

Authorities are questioning Savita’s husband and in-laws to uncover the reasons behind this tragic event. However, police have urged the public not to speculate and assured that every aspect of the case, including mental health, family circumstances, and any external pressures, will be thoroughly investigated.

Local community leaders have emphasized the need for immediate counseling services for the affected families and to raise awareness about mental health in rural areas, where such resources are still limited. Experts believe that a serious mental health crisis is quietly escalating from cities to villages.

Stress, financial difficulties, loneliness, and social pressures can push many individuals to the brink of mental breakdown, often without timely assistance. Unfortunately, families and communities often become aware of someone’s struggles only after a significant tragedy occurs.

To prevent such incidents, it is crucial to expand counseling services, reduce the stigma associated with mental health, and promote open conversations.
