Tragic Incident in Florida: Mother Arrested After Baby Dies While She Watched Videos

Miami, August 1: A shocking incident in Florida has led to the arrest of a mother after her six-month-old baby died while she was engrossed in watching videos on her mobile phone. The heartbreaking event has drawn significant media attention.

Reports indicate that the mother, 26-year-old Tatyana Norman, failed to seek medical help for her baby despite the child’s deteriorating condition. Instead, she spent hours watching TikTok videos and browsing inappropriate websites, neglecting her child’s urgent needs. This tragic situation unfolded on June 29.

According to The New York Post, during police questioning, Norman provided multiple conflicting accounts of the incident. At times, she claimed the baby had fallen from the bed, while at other times, she offered different explanations. However, the autopsy report and evidence gathered during the investigation contradicted her statements.

During the inquiry, Norman admitted to being overwhelmed while caring for two children. In a fit of anger, she reportedly threw the baby into a playpen, causing severe injuries to the child’s head and body. Just a day prior, she claimed the baby had slipped from her hands while she was searching for the TV remote. Authorities noted that the baby’s condition worsened over time, and timely medical intervention could have changed the outcome.

Norman also alleged that she was struggling with depression and mental stress. However, police stated that these claims are under investigation, and legal proceedings are ongoing.

Currently, the mother faces charges of “aggravated child abuse.” Investigating agencies have indicated that more serious charges could be added based on the autopsy and other evidence. If convicted, she could face a sentence of up to 30 years in prison.
