Tragic Incident in Chhindwara: Worker Dies After Falling Unconscious in Septic Tank

A worker died and another was hospitalized after falling unconscious in a septic tank in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh.

Chhindwara, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : Two laborers working inside a newly constructed septic tank in Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh, experienced a tragic incident on Friday. While one of the workers, 35-year-old Mohan Kumre, lost his life, the other, 36-year-old Diyalal Dhurve, was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred in the village of Kursidhana, located in the Tamia police jurisdiction. Both men were removing shuttering from the inside of the septic tank when they suddenly fell unconscious. Preliminary investigations suggest that they may have been affected by gas accumulation within the enclosed space.

Witnesses at the construction site quickly pulled the laborers from the tank and transported them to Tamia Hospital. Unfortunately, Mohan succumbed to his condition on Saturday, while Diyalal was initially treated before being referred to Chhindwara District Hospital for further medical care.

Tamia Police Station Chief Ashish Jaitwar confirmed that both workers lost consciousness shortly after entering the tank, leading to the tragic outcome. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, focusing on whether adequate safety measures were in place during the construction work.

Investigators are gathering statements from individuals present at the site and examining the circumstances surrounding the incident. They stated that more details will emerge following the post-mortem report and the completion of the investigation.
