New Delhi, August 27: Independent MP Pappu Yadav has responded to the severe flooding in Nepal, the melting of glaciers, the Vande Mataram controversy, and various policies of the central government. He emphasized the need for India and neighboring countries to develop long-term disaster management and environmental strategies in light of the crisis in Nepal. Yadav also accused the government of neglecting issues related to inflation and youth.
Regarding the floods in Nepal, Yadav stated that incidents in areas bordering Tibet and Nepal serve as serious warnings. He noted that the melting glaciers in the Himalayan region and changes in the natural balance could impact several Indian states in the coming years. States like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Assam face flood risks due to rivers originating in Nepal. He stressed that events in Nepal and Tibet should not be dismissed as mere natural disasters; rather, neighboring countries must collaborate on long-term planning.
Yadav raised concerns about alleged corruption in flood management and erosion control efforts in Bihar. He claimed that funds allocated for disaster management are often misused. He urged the government to work on permanent solutions alongside providing relief. Additionally, he expressed concern for Indian citizens stranded in Nepal, stating that their families should receive accurate and verified information.
When asked about differences within the National Conference, Yadav remarked that any elected representative with grievances against party leadership should address them internally. He suggested that if a leader wishes to publicly oppose the party, they should resign and seek re-election from the public.
Commenting on protests by Muslim women against Rahul Gandhi, Yadav affirmed that everyone has the right to express their views. However, he highlighted that Gandhi speaks about the Constitution, democracy, and the rights of all communities. He also referenced Gandhi’s statements regarding the respect for women.
On Kangana Ranaut‘s remarks about women and clothing, Yadav stated that public figures should responsibly address issues of women’s respect.
Regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding Vande Mataram, Yadav asserted that the real issues facing the country are inflation and paper leaks. He urged political parties to focus on these problems instead of creating distractions over Vande Mataram, emphasizing the need to prioritize education, employment, and economic conditions for the youth.
In response to Kailash Vijayvargiya’s comments on rising sugar prices, Yadav sharply criticized the impact of inflation on the common man, particularly poor families. He argued that the increase in essential goods’ prices cannot be overlooked and accused the government of favoring large industrialists and businesses while ordinary people’s financial struggles worsen.
On the Prime Minister‘s upcoming program involving athletes and students, Yadav stated that merely organizing events will not bring about change. He raised issues regarding sports budgets, opportunities for talent, and employment. He called for adequate resources and respect for athletes in sports other than cricket and emphasized prioritizing employment and education for the youth.
