Mumbai, August 27: Waris Pathan, spokesperson for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has sharply criticized actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut for her recent comments. He has demanded that she publicly apologize to the Muslim community. During this statement, Pathan also addressed the clashes in Mumbai’s Parel area, the devastating floods in Nepal, and questions related to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s event in New York.
In response to Kangana Ranaut’s remarks on a television show, Pathan stated that such comments foster hatred in society. He accused BJP affiliates of making inflammatory statements against Muslims and insisted that Ranaut should apologize to the entire Muslim community for her remarks. He emphasized the importance of being factual when commenting on different communities and social practices.
Pathan also urged BJP leadership to curb such statements, asserting that political leaders should avoid language that deteriorates the social environment.
Regarding the clashes during the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi procession in Parel and Chinchpokli, Pathan praised the Mumbai police’s role. He noted that the procession included people from various communities and political ideologies, promoting a message of peace and brotherhood. Although some tension arose after an incident during the procession, he commended the police for managing the situation effectively.
Referring to a viral video on social media, Pathan alleged that some individuals forced two Muslim youths to chant religious slogans. He called on the police to investigate the video, file FIRs against those involved, and take strict action. He warned that some anti-social elements in Mumbai are attempting to disrupt the peace, but such efforts must not succeed.
Pathan also mentioned a recent incident during the Ganapati procession where eggs were thrown, which he condemned. He noted that the police had arrested the accused. Mumbai is known for its mutual love and brotherhood, and provocation or violence against any community should not be tolerated.
On the disaster in Nepal, Pathan expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for the swift recovery of the injured. He claimed that reports indicate over 133 Indian citizens are missing in Nepal. He urged the central government to establish a dedicated information desk to provide accurate and verified information to the families of Indians stranded in Nepal.
He insisted that the Indian government should collaborate with the Nepalese government to ensure the safe evacuation of Indian citizens. Additionally, he called for a relief package to assist those affected by the floods in Nepal. Pathan emphasized the need to rise above politics and accusations during such tragedies, prioritizing humanitarian efforts to deliver accurate information to affected families and ensure the safe return of stranded Indians.
When questioned about the protests at Mohan Bhagwat’s event in New York, Pathan stated that this issue would be addressed later, as the current focus is on handling ongoing matters and challenges in India.
