Tragic Double Murder in Maharashtra Over Garbage Dispute

Sangli, August 18: A shocking incident has emerged from Sangli district in Maharashtra. A couple was allegedly attacked by a neighbor over a garbage disposal dispute, resulting in their deaths.

According to police officials, the conflict began in the Kupwad area of Sangli when neighbors argued about throwing garbage at the doorstep. The altercation escalated quickly, leading to an attack by a man named Farid Abdul Sheikh on Manisha Mohan Kesarkar and her husband, Mohan Kesarkar.

Manisha Kesarkar died at the scene, while her husband suffered severe injuries. He was admitted to a civil hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Following the couple’s deaths, the case has now escalated into a double murder investigation.

Police have arrested the accused, Farid Abdul Sheikh, and the investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, relatives of the victims and local residents gathered in large numbers at the hospital to protest. They demanded that the case against the accused be expedited in a fast-track court and that he receive the harshest punishment possible.

A similar incident occurred last month in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a couple was allegedly murdered by their own sons over a property dispute.

According to officials, the accused sons physically assaulted their parents, attempted to suffocate them, and ultimately strangled them with a towel. This tragedy unfolded just hours after the couple had hosted a religious gathering to celebrate their elder son’s birthday.

Upon receiving the report, police arrived at the scene and transported the injured couple to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The police have detained two brothers, Deepak and Lalit, in connection with this case. Investigators revealed that both suspects are married with children, but their families do not live with them due to unemployment. Authorities stated that the father often pressured his sons to find jobs, leading to ongoing family disputes.
