Ayodhya, August 18: The suspicious death of IPS officer Ashutosh Mishra’s mother has sparked significant concern in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party MP Avadhesh Prasad has given the police administration a 48-hour ultimatum to resolve the case. He stated that if no progress is made within this timeframe, he will initiate a satyagraha (peaceful protest).
Prasad described the incident as deeply tragic, emphasizing that it occurred in a populated area, not a remote location. He noted that an FIR for murder has been filed by the deceased’s IPS officer son, yet local police are presenting the case differently. This has created an atmosphere of fear and anxiety in the region.
He expressed his condolences to the victim’s family and has visited the site to gather information. Prasad demanded a fair investigation to unveil the truth within the next 48 hours.
Additionally, the MP criticized the government regarding the Ram Temple donation issue, asserting that the Samajwadi Party has consistently raised this matter in the assembly and has sought answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prasad alleged that such incidents tarnish the image of Ayodhya, the city of Lord Ram. He accused the government of protecting its own and called for accountability in this case.
On another note, BSP chief and former UP Chief Minister Mayawati also expressed her sorrow over the suspicious death of IPS officer Ashutosh Mishra’s mother. In a post on the social media platform X, she described the murder of the nearly 91-year-old woman as extremely tragic and a matter of grave concern for law and order in the state. She raised a valid concern: if such a heinous crime can occur within a police officer’s family, what does it mean for the safety of ordinary citizens? Mayawati urged the government to take appropriate action and ensure strict legal measures against the culprits, which is essential.
