Pune, August 18: A shocking double murder has sent ripples through Sangli district, Maharashtra. The incident originated from a dispute over trash being thrown at a doorstep in Kupwara.
The wife had already succumbed to her injuries, and now her seriously injured husband has also died during treatment, causing widespread unrest in the area. Police have arrested the prime suspect, Farid Abdul Sheikh, but angry relatives and citizens are demanding strict action against the accused.
The altercation began between neighbors in the Shyam Nagar Shanti Colony of Kupwara over the issue of littering. The argument escalated to the point where Farid Abdul Sheikh allegedly attacked Manisha Mohan Kesarkar and her husband, Mohan Kesarkar.
Manisha Kesarkar lost her life in the attack, while Mohan Kesarkar was receiving treatment at Miraj Government Hospital. Unfortunately, he passed away on Tuesday, turning this incident into a double murder case, as both husband and wife have died.
Upon hearing the news, a large crowd of relatives and citizens gathered at Miraj Government Hospital. The atmosphere is charged with anger, and relatives are insisting that the suspects be tried in a fast-track court without delay, demanding the harshest penalties, including the death penalty.
This tragic event occurred last Saturday, involving 45-year-old Mohan Nagappa Kesarkar and his 35-year-old wife, Manisha Mohan Kesarkar, who lived next to Farid Abdul Sheikh, originally from Wanleswadi. The argument over trash escalated, leading to the brutal attack that left both seriously injured and ultimately resulted in their deaths.
