
Samastipur, May 31: In a tragic incident in the Dal Singh Sarai area of Samastipur district, police discovered the body of a woman hanging from a ceiling fan in her room on Sunday. The deceased, identified as Kajal Kumari (25), was reportedly employed with an orchestra group.
According to police reports, Kajal was the wife of Suraj Kumar from Jharkhand. She had been living alone in a rented accommodation in Ward-11 of Dal Singh Sarai for the past two to three years.
Concern arose when Kajal’s door remained closed for an unusually long time on Sunday morning. Neighbors peered through her window and found her hanging from the fan above her bed. They promptly alerted the authorities.
Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Superintendent of Police Vivek Kumar Sharma stated that the case is currently under investigation. A forensic team has been summoned to the site. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the actual cause of death will be determined after the report is received.
A suicide note was reportedly found at the scene. Family members have been notified about the incident. The police are conducting a thorough investigation from all angles and are questioning nearby residents. The cause of death has not yet been established, but authorities are initially treating it as a suicide.
It has been noted that Kajal did not work for a specific orchestra group; rather, she was available for bookings from various orchestras. Her mobile phone was found on her bed, but it was switched off.
