Prayagraj, June 3: Authorities in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, have uncovered the bodies of three family members in a locked home in the South Malaka area. Police were alerted to a foul odor emanating from the residence, prompting an investigation.
DCP Manish Kumar Shandilya stated in an interview that the deceased include a husband, wife, and their daughter. The search is ongoing for their 40-year-old son, who has been reported missing. Neighbors revealed that no family member had been seen outside the house since Sunday.
The family had two sons; one was expelled from the household 15-20 years ago due to criminal activities. The other son, who lived at home, reportedly had frequent disputes with his father. Authorities suspect his involvement in criminal activities and believe he may be the main suspect in this case.
Police have intensified their inquiries in the neighborhood, gathering information to locate the missing son. Due to visible signs of trauma on the bodies, a murder investigation has been initiated. The exact cause and time of death will be determined following forensic and post-mortem reports.
Additional CP Ajay Pal Sharma addressed reporters, stating that a call to emergency services had reported the foul smell. Upon arrival, the forensic team discovered the bodies of Virendra Kumar, his wife, and daughter in a severely decomposed state. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and the crime scene has been secured for evidence collection.
Sharma further noted that a thorough investigation of the house is underway. The son who lived with the family has been missing for several days, and efforts to locate him are ongoing. Our team is diligently working to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident.
