Greater Noida, February 23: A heartbreaking incident has emerged from the Bisrakh police jurisdiction in Greater Noida. A five-year-old boy, identified as Ishu, was found dead in a pond after being missing since February 18.
According to reports, Ishu’s family had been frantically searching for him. The discovery of his body in the pond on Monday sent shockwaves through the village. Upon learning the news, his family was engulfed in grief.
Family members stated that Ishu had disappeared while playing outside their home on February 18. Despite extensive searches by relatives and locals, no trace of him was found. Subsequently, a missing person report was filed with the police, who also joined the search efforts.
The situation escalated when the child’s body was located in a nearby open pond, leading to widespread outrage among residents. Locals accused the Greater Noida Authority and the administration of negligence, pointing out the lack of barricades, warning signs, or reflectors around the pond. Despite the populated area, no safety measures were in place, which they believe contributed to this tragic incident.
Villagers argued that if the pond had been secured in a timely manner, the child’s life could have been saved.
Upon receiving the news, police from the Bisrakh station arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
