Pune, August 27: In a tragic incident in Pimpliwandi, Junner taluka, a nine-and-a-half-year-old girl was brutally murdered. Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar met with the victim’s family on Thursday to offer condolences and assured them that the government stands firmly with them. He emphasized that the accused will not be spared under any circumstances.
The Deputy Chief Minister described the incident as extremely unfortunate and painful. He reiterated the government’s commitment to taking stringent action against the accused. All necessary steps will be taken to ensure a transparent and thorough investigation, leading to severe punishment for the guilty.
During the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar sought updates on the investigation from Pune District Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill. He instructed that the investigation must be thorough and completed swiftly to file the charges as soon as possible.
Pawar mentioned that the trial will be conducted in a fast-track court to ensure the accused receives a prompt and severe sentence. He directed the Superintendent of Police to meticulously investigate the case to ensure the harshest penalties for the perpetrators.
The government has also made significant decisions regarding the rehabilitation of the victim’s family. They will be provided immediate safe housing under the Shabari Gharakul scheme. Additionally, instructions have been given to install CCTV cameras and high-mast lights at crucial locations for the safety of women and children.
Furthermore, a special camp will be organized to provide caste certificates to the residents of Pimpliwandi. Families lacking these certificates will be targeted in a special campaign to ensure they receive them.
The victim’s family will receive financial assistance of five lakh rupees from the Nationalist Welfare Fund. After discussions with the Commissioner of Women and Child Development, Varsha Vantwal, it has been decided to provide an additional ten lakh rupees under the Manodhairya scheme. The judicial committee has approved this assistance, which will be deposited into the victim’s family account immediately.
The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that the government will make every possible effort to deliver justice to the victim’s family and provide all necessary support.
Present at the meeting were MLA Sharad Sonawane, Zilla Parishad members Chhaya Tambe, Kalpana Kale, Sonabai Dabhade, Amit Benke, Vikas Darekar, Devaram Lande, Pooja Butte, Supriya Lande, and a large number of villagers.
