Thane, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : A devastating accident occurred on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway near Atgaon in Thane district, Maharashtra, on September 16. Four individuals lost their lives, and seven others sustained injuries in this tragic incident. Among the deceased were young children, all of whom were residents of Jogeshwari and had been returning from a visit to the Trimbakeshwar temple.
Reports indicate that a burnt-out truck, abandoned at the roadside for nearly two years, was the cause of the collision. An Ertiga car, traveling towards Mumbai, crashed violently into the truck from behind, leading to the catastrophic outcome.
There were a total of eleven people in the car at the time of the accident. The deceased have been identified as Shriram Jaiswal, Ayush Jaiswal, Lado Jaiswal, and Suraj Jaiswal. The injured, including Subhi Jaiswal, Shivam Jaiswal, Hashik Jaiswal, Sunita Jaiswal, Radhika Jaiswal, Satish Jaiswal, and Santaram Jaiswal, are currently receiving treatment at the Shahapur sub-district hospital.
According to the driver, the steering wheel of the car suddenly locked, and the brakes failed, resulting in the loss of control and the subsequent crash into the stationary truck.
