
Noida, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : In Noida, the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign was launched with great enthusiasm on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The event, organized by the Noida Authority, saw participation from local representatives, officials, students, and residents.
The campaign aims to promote cleanliness, environmental conservation, and public awareness. A major cleanliness drive was conducted at the Morna bus stand in Sector 35, engaging the community in efforts to keep public spaces clean and encouraging proper waste disposal as part of daily habits.
Local MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma and Noida MLA Pankaj Singh interacted with citizens during the campaign. They emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in public areas and making hygiene a personal responsibility.
As part of the initiative, educational tours were organized to familiarize students and residents with waste management and environmental protection. Participants visited the solid waste management plant in Sector 34 and the sewage treatment plant in Sector 54.
During these tours, attendees learned about waste disposal and sewage treatment processes. Officials highlighted the critical role of citizens in maintaining cleanliness. Evening Diwali celebrations were held at prominent locations, including the wetlands in Sector 54 and Children’s Park in Sector 33, to promote messages of cleanliness and civic engagement.
The celebrations also included the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ program at Vedvan Park in Sector 78, led by MLA Pankaj Singh and the additional chief executive officer, Vandana Tripathi. They lit lamps to reaffirm their commitment to the cleanliness campaign. Another ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ event took place at the Noida Authority headquarters auditorium, attended by Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi.
Under the leadership of Additional Chief Executive Officer Pushp Raj Singh, officials and staff lit lamps to reinforce their dedication to the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ initiative. Throughout the day, various service resolution programs were conducted at key infrastructure locations across the city.
Senior officials were present at these events, which aimed to raise awareness about cleanliness, environmental conservation, and beautification efforts. The day before the campaign, major roads in Noida were adorned with attractive lights, enhancing the city’s festive atmosphere.
The Noida Authority stated that ongoing efforts are being made to transform the city into a clean, beautiful, and green space. They urged citizens not to confine cleanliness efforts to campaigns but to incorporate them into their daily routines. Officials stressed that maintaining a clean and eco-friendly city is a shared responsibility between the authority and each resident.
