Tragic Accident in Maharashtra: Swift Car Falls into Drain, Two Lives Lost

Mumbai, July 30: A tragic accident in Nashik district of Maharashtra claimed the lives of two individuals when their Swift car fell into a drain. The incident occurred due to the driver’s inability to gauge a pothole on the road, causing the vehicle to veer uncontrollably into the drain.

Initial reports indicate that the accident happened late at night on the Chandwad-Manmad road. Both victims, identified as Sagar Bedade and his driver, lost their lives in the incident.

Local authorities have faced criticism for their inaction regarding complaints about potholes on the Chandwad-Manmad road. Despite repeated grievances, no measures were taken, leading to this unfortunate accident.

In another incident in Bhivandi, Maharashtra, a family returning from dropping relatives at Mumbai Airport experienced a collision that injured around eight people. The relatives were on their way to perform Umrah.

The family’s vehicle, a cruiser, crashed into a stationary truck on the Mumbai-Nashik highway. Reports suggest that the truck was parked just ahead of the Bhivandi bypass when the driver lost control of the cruiser, resulting in a rear-end collision.

The crash caused panic, and bystanders quickly gathered to assist the injured. Approximately ten people were in the cruiser, with eight sustaining injuries. Local police, alerted to the scene, collaborated with residents to transport the injured to Indira Gandhi Hospital in Bhivandi. Four individuals were in serious condition and were referred to another hospital for further treatment.
