TMC Faces Criticism Amidst Calls for Change in West Bengal

New Delhi, March 14: BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala launched a strong attack on the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal on Saturday. He asserted that the people of the state are ready to embrace the BJP.

Speaking to reporters, Poonawala stated, “When Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses a rally in West Bengal, it is not just a gathering; it symbolizes change and transformation. The people of West Bengal have decided that they want to rid themselves of the TMC, which they associate with ‘tyranny, mafia, and communalism.’”

He further claimed, “As the public rallies alongside PM Modi in large numbers, the TMC, feeling threatened by this mandate, resorts to its usual tactics. Our workers and the public are being attacked with stones. This is the same TMC that eliminates its opponents and terrorizes the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe women. This party is willing to resort to violence, even against the Election Commission. A wave of change is sweeping through West Bengal, prompting the TMC to respond with violence.”

Poonawala also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating, “The history of Rahul Gandhi’s family is one of dividing the nation based on religion, language, and caste. This divisive family is now trying to create a generational divide among the youth. That’s why Rahul Gandhi claims that students are rejected in DU interviews based on caste. He seems unaware that DU admissions are based on CUET scores, and the process is transparent, with no basis for rejection. Now, Rahul Gandhi wants to ignite tensions among Generation Z, as they are rejecting him.”

On the tensions in the Middle East, he remarked, “With Modi, anything is possible. When the Ukraine-Russia war began, India was the only country capable of facilitating dialogue between Ukraine and Russia. India can engage with both Iran and Israel, as well as the United States. The trust PM Modi has built is reflected in India’s neutral stance, advocating for peace. Discussions with Iran and Gulf nations are ongoing to ensure India’s energy security.”

He concluded, “There is no shortage of oil or LPG gas, and the government is making every effort to manage the situation. Globally, oil and gas prices have surged by 10 to 20 percent, but India’s situation remains stable. However, the Congress and the Samajwadi Party are disheartened and are creating panic to gain political advantage.”
