New Delhi, June 26: Leaders, including Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, paid homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain’s martyrdom on this solemn occasion of Muharram.
Vice President Radhakrishnan shared on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “On the occasion of Muharram, we remember the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS). Muharram reminds us of values such as courage, sacrifice, compassion, and unwavering commitment to truth and justice. This sacred occasion inspires us to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, peace, and mutual respect in our society.”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge referenced Mahatma Gandhi’s words on the same platform, saying, “Achieving victory while being oppressed is what I learned from Imam Hussain.” He further added, “On this Muharram, let us remember the great sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and resolve to walk the path of love, brotherhood, justice, and communal harmony.”
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi remarked, “The struggle, sacrifice, and martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain teach us to become the strongest shield of humanity against falsehood, tyranny, and injustice. On this day of Muharram, we should draw inspiration from the path he showed us.”
Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar extended heartfelt wishes for Muharram, hoping this sacred occasion brings peace, happiness, prosperity, and well-being to all.
Congress leader Ashok Gehlot stated, “On this Muharram, we pay tribute to the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions. Our commitment should be to continue on the path of truth, justice, and humanity.”
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren remarked, “The martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain is an eternal example of truth, justice, humanity, and brotherhood. His sacrifice inspires us to stand firmly against oppression and injustice in every era. On this occasion of Muharram, we pay homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain.”
