Patna, July 31 – Three engineering students lost their lives on Thursday morning when a CNG auto collided with a stationary truck on the roadside at the Jamui-Lakhisarai border in Bihar. Reports indicate that the students were on their way to Lakhisarai to catch a train for an examination.

Tetarhat police station in-charge Mrityunjay Kumar confirmed that the deceased students have been identified as Pankaj Kumar and Saroj Kumar from Samastipur district, and Sahil Kumar from Nalanda. All three were students of an engineering college.
According to police, the auto was carrying six people when it crashed into a parked truck early Thursday morning. The three students died on the spot, while the driver and two other students narrowly escaped by falling into a roadside ditch. The auto driver fled the scene with the two injured passengers.
