
Ghaziabad, August 20: Two separate encounters between police and suspects have been reported in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj and Ghaziabad. In the Amampur area of Kasganj, police arrested three cattle smugglers following an encounter. Meanwhile, in the Sihani Gate area of Ghaziabad, a chain snatcher was injured in the leg during a police encounter, while his accomplice managed to escape.
According to Kasganj police, they received a tip-off about individuals involved in cattle meat smuggling. Acting on this information, a police team cordoned off the area. During the operation, the suspects opened fire on the police. In the exchange, a suspect named Javed, also known as Javid, was shot in the leg and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
The police also apprehended two other suspects, Alehassan and Mushroom, who attempted to flee the scene. From the suspects, authorities recovered approximately 100 kilograms of meat, three illegal firearms, six cartridges, a .315 bore weapon, a motorcycle, and meat-cutting tools. A case has been registered at the Amampur police station, and further legal action is underway.
In Ghaziabad, an encounter occurred between police and two criminals during a vehicle check. Police received information that two young men on a scooter were planning to commit a crime. When the police attempted to stop the suspicious scooter, the duo tried to escape and fired at the officers.
In self-defense, police returned fire, injuring Shadab, also known as Shah Rukh, in the leg. He has been hospitalized, while his accomplice Sameer escaped into the darkness.
Police officials stated that Shadab had been on their radar for some time. He was arrested based on the informant’s tip-off on Wednesday night. A team is being formed to track down the fleeing suspect. Authorities are currently interrogating the arrested Shadab, from whom a firearm, cartridges, and the scooter were recovered.
