Three Bowlers Achieve Multiple Hat-tricks in IPL History, Including Yuvraj Singh

New Delhi, April 3: The 19th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) kicked off on March 28. Throughout its history, bowlers have achieved a total of 23 hat-tricks in the IPL. However, only three bowlers have managed to claim this feat more than once in the league.

Yuvraj Singh: Known for his explosive batting, Yuvraj Singh has also made a significant impact with the ball in the IPL. In the 2009 season, his spinning deliveries troubled many batsmen. Playing for the Punjab Kings, Yuvraj took not one, but two hat-tricks during IPL 2009.

He remains the only bowler to have taken two hat-tricks in a single IPL season. On May 1, 2009, in a match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Yuvraj dismissed Robin Uthappa, Jacques Kallis, and Mark Boucher in three consecutive deliveries. He achieved his second hat-trick of the season against the Deccan Chargers, taking out Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Symonds, and Venugopal Rao.

Amit Mishra: Amit Mishra is the only bowler in IPL history to have taken three hat-tricks. While playing for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), he claimed his first hat-trick in 2008 against the Deccan Chargers. In 2011, wearing the Deccan Chargers jersey, he dismissed three Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) batsmen in three consecutive balls. His third hat-trick came in 2013 while playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad against the Pune Warriors.

Yuzvendra Chahal: Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has also recorded two hat-tricks in the IPL. In 2022, while playing for the Rajasthan Royals, he took out three Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen in three consecutive deliveries. Chahal achieved his second hat-trick during IPL 2025 at Chepauk against the Chennai Super Kings, dismissing Deepak Hooda, Anshul Kamboj, and Noor Ahmad.
