Jamui, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : Authorities in Jamui, Bihar, have arrested three individuals following the emergence of a disturbing video that allegedly shows the harassment of two school students. The incident has caught the attention of the Bihar State Women’s Commission, which has taken immediate action.
Apsara, the chairperson of the commission, stated that upon learning of the incident, she promptly wrote to the Superintendent of Police (SP) and sought detailed information from the District Magistrate (DM) of Jamui. The commission became aware of the situation through media reports on the morning of September 19.
According to Apsara, the harassment occurred on the evening of September 19 in a border area between Lakhisarai and Jamui. The video, which has since gone viral on social media, depicts the harassment of a 10th-grade boy and girl by a group of individuals. The victims were identified based on the number plate of a scooter seen in the video, leading to their engagement and the filing of a First Information Report (FIR).
As of now, three suspects have been apprehended. Local authorities have indicated that efforts are underway to arrest additional individuals linked to the case. Apsara commended the swift actions taken by the local administration, noting that the prompt arrests following the video’s circulation were commendable.
The DM has promised to provide updated information on the case by the end of the day. Apsara mentioned that the commission is prepared to visit the site if necessary to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The local administration and police are treating the matter with utmost seriousness, ensuring that anyone found guilty will face legal consequences. The Women’s Commission has requested a comprehensive and updated report from local officials, and further actions will be determined based on the information received.
