New Delhi, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Police’s Special Staff has successfully raided an illegal gambling den located in the Vishnu Garden area of Khayala, West Delhi, resulting in the arrest of seven individuals. Authorities announced this development on Monday.
Acting on reliable information regarding gambling activities, a team from the Special Staff conducted a raid under the guidance of senior police officials. During the operation, officers discovered seven individuals engaged in gambling and apprehended them at the scene.
A search of the premises revealed ₹18,060 in suspected betting money along with gambling slips. Additionally, police confiscated 33 quarters of illegal liquor from the location.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the premises belong to Shobha, the wife of a known criminal named Brijpal, who was not present during the raid. Police noted that Shobha has a notorious history with 26 previous criminal cases registered against her at the Khayala police station.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sandeep (37, resident of Nand Nagari), Arun Kumar (53, resident of Khayala), Madan Lal (38, resident of Kotla Mubarakpur), Neeraj (18, resident of Raghubir Nagar), Mukhtar Singh (40, resident of Khayala), Kishan (45, resident of Khayala), and Bitu Kumar (24, resident of Vishnu Garden).
The seized items and the arrested individuals have been handed over to the local police at the Khayala police station for further legal action. This operation is part of an ongoing effort by the police in West Delhi to combat illegal gambling and other unlawful activities.
DCP H. V. Swami (IPS) stated that the police will continue to take action against illegal gambling and related offenses in accordance with the law.
