Jammu, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : Authorities in Jammu have apprehended three individuals in connection with a counterfeit currency operation. The arrests occurred on September 29, following a police investigation that uncovered suspicious activities related to the production of fake notes in a rented space in the Chowadi area.
According to police officials, a team from the Soldier Colony police post acted on credible information about the printing of counterfeit currency. Upon arrival at the location, officers arrested the suspects, identified as Vijay Sahni from Siwan, Bihar, Indrajit Kumar from Maharajpur, Jharkhand, and Rahul Ahirwar from Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh.
During the search of the premises, police seized 13,500 rupees worth of low-quality counterfeit notes in denominations of 100 rupees, a printing machine, a paper cutter, bottles of ink in various colors, and other materials suspected to be linked to the counterfeit operation.
The confiscated items have been taken into custody in accordance with legal procedures. An FIR has been registered at the Channi Himmat police station under sections 178/180/181/3(5) BNS and 4/25 of the Arms Act, and an investigation is underway.
The investigation aims to uncover the full extent of the operation, identify the source of the counterfeit currency, and determine if others are involved in the scheme. Jammu police reaffirm their commitment to protecting the integrity of the currency system and taking strict legal action against those engaged in the production, possession, circulation, or other illegal activities related to counterfeit currency.
