The Impact of Kashmir on Siddhant’s Roles in Jubilee and Freedom at Midnight

Mumbai, March 4: Actor Siddhant, known for his remarkable performances in the streaming series ‘Jubilee’ and ‘Freedom at Midnight’, recently opened up about his emotional connection to his roots in Kashmir. He emphasized that while his career is based in Mumbai, his soul is deeply rooted in Jammu.

The proximity to Jammu and Kashmir has profoundly influenced his characters, drawing him towards roles that allow him to immerse himself fully. Siddhant shared, “My two most significant roles are closely tied to Jammu. My breakthrough role in ‘Jubilee’ was as Jay Khanna, who was linked to Karachi when it was part of India. Recently, I portrayed India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was born in Kashmir. Clearly, we share a connection to the same region.”

His childhood trips to Kashmir hold special memories for him. He remarked, “I loved visiting Kashmir as a child. However, as I delved deeper into its history and the struggles faced by its people, my perspective changed. Playing Nehru strengthened my bond with the layered and painful history of the region.”

Siddhant also expressed a profound thought, saying, “I often wonder if any fiction or story can truly capture the reality and pain of the people of Kashmir. The experience there is so deep and complex that imagination may not fully convey it.”

For him, the most beautiful moment of connecting with his roots comes when his performances receive praise. He stated, “Every time someone compliments my acting, I immediately think of the smiling faces back home. Those faces from Jammu, my beloved family, represent my strongest connection.”
