Patna, August 16: Tejashwi Yadav, the national executive president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has criticized the state government over issues related to paper leaks, employment, and the recent shooting incident involving students in Siwan.
In a media interaction, Yadav announced that a march will take place on August 19 towards the Raj Bhavan. He emphasized that the march aims to bring the problems faced by students and youth to the attention of the Governor.
Yadav pointed out that Bihar has gained notoriety due to frequent incidents of paper leaks. He alleged that complaints regarding paper leaks have emerged in various examinations, from matriculation to intermediate and other recruitment tests. He questioned how justice could be served to hardworking students if exams are not conducted fairly.
Referring to the Siwan incident, Yadav stated that students were fighting for their rights when shots were fired from an AK-47. He raised concerns about who ordered the shooting at students. He mentioned that he had previously met with the Director General of Police (DGP) to demand accountability from the government, but no significant action has been taken so far.
He noted that only one constable has been dismissed in connection with the incident, while no action has been taken against other responsible officials, including the Superintendent of Police (SP). Yadav revealed that he has discussed this issue with leaders across the country and will demand answers from the government during the march on August 19. This open march will welcome students, teachers, coaching institute attendees, and anyone affected by the examination and employment system. He also indicated that some leaders from outside the state would join the march.
Addressing the employment issue, Yadav criticized the government for failing to deliver on the BJP’s promise of one crore jobs. He claimed that not even one lakh jobs have been provided in Bihar so far. He urged the youth who have faced injustice to raise their voices by participating in the march on August 19.
On the topic of alcohol prohibition, Yadav accused the state government of complete failure. He alleged that home delivery of alcohol is occurring despite the government’s claims of enforcing prohibition. He stated that while the government asserts that prohibition is in effect, the ground reality tells a different story. He accused those in power of being involved in the alleged alcohol racket and questioned how the review of prohibition would be conducted, urging the Chief Minister to clarify.
