Amaravati, March 30: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) celebrated its 44th Foundation Day on Sunday at its central office, under the slogan “Workers are Leaders.” This motto highlights the party’s commitment to prioritizing its workers.
TDP National President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu addressed party workers, stating that only those who work honestly for the party will be given opportunities to become public representatives. He warned that leaders who distance themselves from party workers would also be sidelined.
Naidu shed light on upcoming political developments, mentioning that proposed delimitation could lead to a 50% increase in seats. Additionally, the implementation of 33% reservation for women will create significant opportunities for dedicated party workers.
The Chief Minister made it clear that every party member must uphold TDP’s reputation through their personal conduct and public service. He urged leaders and workers to stay connected with the public, understand their issues, and work towards solutions. He emphasized that a strong party translates to a strong state, and the party’s victory is synonymous with the state’s victory.
Naidu acknowledged the challenges the party has faced over the past few years, including successes and crises. He paid tribute to party workers who have sacrificed everything for the party, enduring hardships and even losing their lives.
He recalled significant challenges, including political conspiracies from previous governments, assassination attempts on himself, and struggles faced by past party leaders and workers. Naidu also mentioned his imprisonment during 2019-2024, emphasizing that the party’s current status is a result of its workers’ unwavering commitment. He warned that leaders who neglect or harass workers will not be tolerated.
The Chief Minister highlighted key initiatives aimed at job creation, such as enhanced social pensions, “Super Six” schemes, employment generation efforts, recruitment drives, and industrial investments.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to not increase electricity tariffs, complete major projects like Polavaram, and develop Amaravati as a future-ready capital city.
Naidu stated that TDP stands for development-oriented politics and urged party members to engage with the public and effectively counter misinformation regarding the government’s achievements.
Earlier, the Chief Minister hoisted the party flag at TDP’s central office in the presence of National General Secretary Nara Lokesh, State Party President Palla Srinivas, and other senior leaders. A floral tribute was paid to the statue of party founder N.T. Rama Rao. Later, Naidu, along with Minister Nara Lokesh, hosted lunch for senior party workers who have served the party since its inception.
Approximately 60 senior party officials from various constituencies participated. Both Naidu and Lokesh engaged in deep conversations with party workers, inquiring about their health and family well-being. As a symbol of respect and appreciation, Naidu presented new clothes to all senior workers.
