Tata Nexon Tops Sales, But Tata Harrier Leads in Demand

Mumbai, March 8: Tata Motors continues to captivate Indian customers with its vehicles. In February 2026, the Tata Nexon emerged as the company’s best-selling model. However, in terms of demand, the Tata Harrier outperformed all competitors.

In February 2026, a total of 3,096 Tata Harrier units were sold, a significant increase from 1,376 units sold in February 2025. This marks a remarkable 125 percent annual growth for the Harrier. In contrast, the Nexon, while still the top seller, only saw a 27 percent increase in sales.

The Tata Harrier is equipped with a powerful 2.0-liter diesel engine, generating 170bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. It offers both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The company claims a fuel efficiency of 16.80 km/l for the manual variant and 14.60 km/l for the automatic.

The Harrier also boasts a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital 10.25-inch driver display, a 10-speaker sound system, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. For safety, it includes standard features such as six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring, and advanced driver assistance systems.

In the Indian market, the Tata Harrier competes with SUVs like the Mahindra XUV 700. The Harrier has received a 5-star rating from the Global NCAP for family safety in crash tests. Its ex-showroom price ranges from ₹12.89 lakh to ₹25.25 lakh for the top model.
