Tata and Mahindra Shine in Indias Top 25 Best-Selling Cars of February

Mumbai, March 9: In February, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra made a significant mark in India’s automotive market. Their models, including Tata Nexon, Punch, Sierra, and Tiago, along with Mahindra’s Thar, Bolero, SUV 7X0, and XUV 3X0, featured prominently in the list of the 25 best-selling cars. Together, Tata and Mahindra accounted for nine vehicles in this competitive segment.

Despite Maruti Suzuki’s dominance, the strong sales of Tata and Mahindra vehicles indicate a growing preference for homegrown brands among Indian consumers. While Maruti Suzuki had ten models in the top 25, Tata and Mahindra’s performance is noteworthy. The Tata Nexon and Punch, along with Mahindra’s Scorpio, have notably challenged the sales of Maruti and Hyundai.

Here’s a breakdown of Tata and Mahindra’s nine models that made it to the top 25 best-selling cars last month:

Tata Nexon

In February, Tata Motors’ sub-4 meter compact SUV, the Nexon, emerged as the best-selling car, with sales reaching 19,430 units.

Tata Punch

The Tata Punch, known for its affordability, secured the third spot with 18,478 units sold. The recent launch of its facelift models has spurred demand.

Mahindra Scorpio

The Mahindra Scorpio ranked as the ninth best-selling car, with a total of 14,665 units sold, combining both the Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic models.

Mahindra Thar

The popular Mahindra Thar series sold 11,047 units in February, placing it 14th in the rankings.

Mahindra Bolero

The compact seven-seater Bolero sold 9,863 units, securing the 17th position in the top 25 list.

Mahindra XUV 7X0

The Mahindra XUV 7X0 saw sales of 9,112 units, making it the 21st best-selling car.

Mahindra XUV 3X0

The sub-4 meter compact SUV, XUV 3X0, sold 8,637 units, ranking 23rd in the list.

Tata Sierra

The Tata Sierra, one of the most popular SUVs in recent months, sold 7,100 units, helping it secure the 24th spot.

Tata Tiago

The Tiago also contributed to Tata’s impressive sales figures, further solidifying the brand’s presence in the market.

This trend reflects a positive shift towards indigenous brands, showcasing the growing acceptance of homegrown products among Indian consumers.
