Tarun Chugh Advocates Womens Reservation for Stronger Democracy, Criticizes Congress

New Delhi, April 9: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has responded to Prime Minister Modi’s call for all MPs to support the Women’s Reservation Bill. He also addressed comments made by Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge regarding the BJP and RSS.

In an interview, Chugh stated, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a new direction for India’s democratic framework with unprecedented decisions like the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill. This is not just legislation; it is a historic commitment to political and social participation. The Prime Minister is dedicated to women’s empowerment. From the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiative to ensuring women’s participation from local councils to Parliament, our daughters are now achieving success in every sector. Increased participation of women in politics will lead to a balanced and progressive society. The Women’s Reservation Bill will further strengthen our democracy.”

Chugh launched a sharp attack on Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge. He remarked, “Kharge and Gandhi’s statements are aimed at pleasing the Muslim League and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders. The Congress’s anti-national stance is now evident to everyone. Wearing Italian glasses, Congress members make anti-national statements to appease foreign and Muslim leaders, but the people of India will not forget these humiliating remarks.”

Kharge had previously described the RSS and BJP as a “poisonous snake” during an election rally in Assam. He stated, “The Quran clearly mentions that if a poisonous snake appears while praying, one should abandon the prayer and first deal with the snake. Today, the RSS and BJP are that snake.” This comment has sparked controversy, with BJP leaders continuously responding sharply to Kharge and the Congress party.
