Swami Jitendranand Claims Victory for Hindu Temples Following Court Ruling

New Delhi, May 15: Swami Jitendranand Saraswati, the National Secretary of the All India Saints Committee, asserted on Friday that according to their organization, many of the country’s prominent temples were demolished to construct mosques.

His comments came in response to a recent ruling by the Madhya Pradesh High Court, which recognized the Bhojshala complex as a Hindu temple and property of King Bhoj. The court annulled the Archaeological Survey of India’s (ASI) 2003 order, granting the Hindu side exclusive rights to worship at the site, while dismissing petitions from the Muslim community and the Jain community.

Swami Jitendranand welcomed the High Court’s decision. He alleged that prayers were being conducted in the temple of Goddess Saraswati to insult the Hindu community.

He emphasized that the Saints Committee has always believed that mosques were built by demolishing popular temples. He pointed out that the ASI’s 2003 order, which allowed the Muslim community to pray at that location, has now been overturned by the High Court.

The Hindu leader further urged all Muslim religious organizations to withdraw from disputed sites in Mathura and Kashi (Varanasi), just as they did in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case and the Bhojshala complex matter, asserting that they have substantial evidence in these cases as well.

Hindu petitioners have claimed that the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi and the Shahi Idgah Mosque in Mathura were built over ancient temples, namely Kashi Vishwanath and Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, respectively. The saint stressed that the courts have ruled in their favor in both cases. He also appealed for peace to be maintained across the country.

Swami Jitendranand stated, “Let us sit together and discuss, but you (Muslims) must vacate the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura and the Gyanvapi Mosque in Kashi.”

Dinesh Sharma, known as ‘Falhari Baba,’ also praised the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s decision. He remarked that Mughal rulers had unlawfully seized many of their temples and demolished religious sites. Now, through the judiciary, their hopes of restoring these temples have been rekindled.

Falhari Baba emphasized that the Bhojshala case would serve as a model for ensuring justice in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah dispute. He added that this ruling feels like a celebration of Diwali for Hindus.
