Barbados, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 witnessed an exciting match on September 6 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The Trinbago Knight Riders faced off against the Barbados Tridents, emerging victorious by 35 runs.
After winning the toss, Barbados opted to bowl first. The Knight Riders set a target of 148 runs, scoring 147 runs for the loss of six wickets. Captain Nicholas Pooran led the charge with a powerful innings, scoring 59 runs off 37 balls, which included seven sixes and two fours. Opening batsman Colin Munro contributed 38 runs from 32 balls, while Kieron Pollard and Joshua Da Silva added 15 and 10 runs, respectively.

Sunil Narine delivered a remarkable bowling performance for Trinbago, taking four wickets for just 12 runs in 3.3 overs. Jade Gully supported him well, capturing three wickets for 20 runs in four overs. Lahiru Kumara and Akil Hossain also chipped in with two and one wickets, respectively.
Narine was named Player of the Match for his outstanding contribution. This victory marked the third win for the Trinbago Knight Riders in their ninth match of the season, placing them sixth in the standings with six points. Conversely, this defeat was Barbados’s fourth in their sixth match, leaving them at the bottom of the table with four points.
