Sukanta Majumdar Announces Deportation of Nearly 5,000 Bangladeshi Nationals

New Delhi, June 14: The West Bengal BJP government is actively identifying and deporting illegal immigrants. Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar has confirmed that approximately 5,000 Bangladeshi nationals have been sent back.

In a media interaction, Majumdar stated that Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari had already mentioned the deportation of these individuals. He emphasized that the government is following a policy of “Detection, Deletion, and Deportation.” This process will continue, and the Chief Minister will periodically update the public on the number of deported individuals.

Majumdar also referenced an ongoing CID investigation into a case of forged signatures, which has raised allegations from within the Trinamool Congress regarding the authenticity of signatures. Both parties involved will be investigated thoroughly.

Commenting on former minister Manas Ranjan Bhunia’s departure from the TMC, Majumdar noted that Bhunia had previously been with the Congress before joining the TMC. He mentioned that Bhunia faced pressure and had to flee through fields due to alleged thuggery. Now, under PM Modi’s slogan “Trust In, Protest Out, Fear Out,” he has left the TMC.

Majumdar remarked that during the previous government, examinations were infrequent and often marred by irregularities. He assured the youth that, based on his discussions with the Chief Minister, they can participate in exams without fear, as they will be conducted fairly and transparently.

Regarding the rebellion among TMC MPs, he stated that it is an internal matter for the TMC to decide how many MPs align with whom and their future support for leadership.

On the other hand, Bengal government minister Agnimitra Paul criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee‘s leadership, likening it to that of a blind king, which he believes has weakened and fragmented the party. He expressed disbelief at the rapid decline of the TMC, stating that it has splintered both in the Assembly and Parliament, lacking any coherent policy or ideology. He attributed the party’s downfall to Abhishek Banerjee’s close ties with Mamata Banerjee.
